MUMMY: International Festivals

Well, we are quite excited to say that we have been invited to send our short film Mummy, I want some more for the Cypruss International Film Festival. It will take place in April but we still don't know if we will be selected or not. We are sending 4 DVD copies of the film, and see how does it get there... let's wish it very good luck!

And about the Manchester Film Festival there are not news yet. Not even the administration cheque has been withdrawn, so, hopefully they are logging everything at the moment. We will be looking for other ways out for the short film, although I don't think it will fit in all of them. Maybe because of the duration (although was a big challenge). Whenever we finish all the promotion we will upload the film on the web so everybody can have a look at it.

... and be careful with mum!

LIMBO: 1st meeting

We, Irena and I, have talked about possibilities to adapt high-budgeted scenes into a low/no-budget production. We thought of possibilities to create the bubble or emulate the idea of the bubble; playing with close-ups of the characters, etc.
We highlighted the idea of fate rather than revenge on the ghost... something he is carried to do and made to understand rather than his will (we are going to discuss this further with Peter de Bont, author of the story).

We have been shown in different films that ghosts remain in this dimension to fix things they couldn't do during their lifetime, or to make a kind of 'justice' after death. In the film Ghost, the main character seeks revenge and protection to his wife and in The Sixth Sense a ghost has to understand his fate to disappear once he fulfils a guilty feeling before he died. In Limbo there are different treatments of this beings (ghosts).

We want to start the production ending february, beginning of march, once everything has been set on the script... etc.
