Ya he terminado de escribir la adaptación de Limbo por lo que podemos empezar la pre-producción tan pronto como posible. Estoy planeando tener todo preparado para empezar a rodar a finales de mayo (desafortunadamente no puede ser antes dado que estoy inmerso en mis ensayos para la Universidad que entrego en 2 semanas). Voy a empezar a comprobar el guión y hacer unos storyboards estos días previos al rodaje, así como preparar una reunión con el equipo voluntario que podrían querer ayudar al rodaje.

El montaje debería estar terminado en agosto, dado que de nuevo un viaje para visitar a mi hermana que está embarazada no me dejará trabajar en el montaje antes. Por lo que, si todo va bien, ¡para septiembre podríamos tener el filme preparado para estrenar!

I have finally finished writing the adaptation for Limbo so we can start pre-production as soon as possible. I am planning to have everything ready to start shooting at the end of May (unfortunately It won't be earlier as I am inmersed on my essays to present to University in 2 weeks time). I am going to start to check the script and do some storyboards these days prior to the shooting, as well as plan a meeting with all the volunteers that might want to help on the shooting.

Editing should be finished by august, as again an inconvenient trip to visit my sister who is pregnat won't let me stay to make the editing earlier. Thus, if everything runs okay, by september we could have the film ready for screening!!

For those who doesn't know or don't remember, 2 years ago I shot this short film for a University exercise, and then for the Compressed Film Festival NotodofilmFest.com. The result was this plasticine animation about a worm's life (The Ugly Worm's Metamorphosis); he is not understood by the society, and discovers that the world is dimmer than the idealized world he was sustained on. However, things are not as they seem they are...

Selected for a film contest but not recognized beyond, The Ugly Worm's Metamorphosis was a personal creation of a situation I was living on that precise moments, disappointed in different levles (friendship, studies and family...), and well..., I supose that the outcome would be more or less that idealized way out I was expecting to take with my life. Let's say it is becoming true.

Para aquellos que no sepan o no se acuerden, hace un par de años ya que realicé este cortometraje para un ejercicio de universidad, y después para el Festival de Cine Comprimido NotodofilmFest.com. El resultado fue la animación de plastilina sobre un gusano (La Metamorfosis del Gusanito Feo), que siendo imcomprendido por la sociedad, descubre que el mundo es más oscuro que aquél ideal en el que se sustentaba su mundo. Sin embargo las cosas no son como parecen...

Seleccionado para un festival pero no reconocido más allá de ahí, La Metamorfosis del Gusanito Feo fue más bien una creación personalista de una situación en la que estaba viviendo en aquellos momentos, desilusionado y decepcionado en diferentes niveles (amistad, universidad, familia...), y bueno, supongo que el desenlace sería más o menos la salida "idealista" que esperaba en la que se embarcara el rumbo de mi vida. Digamos que se está cumpliendo.

¡¡Hola a todos!!

El 2º Festival de Cine Internacional de Chipre terminó, y nosotros... pues estamos muy contentos de haber participado en un festival de cine internacional. No hemos conseguido ningún premio porque nos ganó nuestro colega Stefan Georgiou quien dirigió Dear Steven Spielberg (puedes comprobar en IMDB, tiene presupuesto y todo eso, así como producción). De todas formas, haber sido una película sin presupuesto la nuestra, estamos muy orgullosos de haber llegado hasta este sitio, y ser nominados en 2 categorías.

Estamos esperando ahora por el Festival Internacional de Manchester a ver si dan una respuesta sobre nuestro corto, pero por el momento estamos empezando a preparar futuros cortometrajes que pensamos que conseguirán muchos premios. Lo bueno; yo he aprendido a presentar material a festivales y espero que esto ayude en futuros papeleos. Mientras tanto, aquí os cuelgo un vídeo que Christina, amablemente, grabó cuando fue a la ceramonia en Nicosia (capital de Chipre para aquellos que no lo sepan :P). ¡¡Disfrutar del clip!!

Hello everybody!

2nd Cyprus International Film Festival is over, and we are... very happy to have been selected in an International Film Festival. We have not got any award at all as we were beaten by our fellow Stefan Georgiou who directed Dear Steven Spielberg (you can check on imdb, he's got budget and all that stuff as well as a production). Anyway, to have been a no-budget student film we are very proud to have reached this place, and have been nominated in 2 categories.

We are awaiting now for the Manchester International Film Festival to give a response to our short too, but at the moment we are starting to prepare next future shorts that we think will be worth getting a lot of awards. The good things; I have learnt how to present things to festival and I hope this will help for future paperwork. I post here a video Christina kindly filmed when she went to the Ceremony in Nicosia (capital of Cyprus for those who don't know :P). Enjoy the clip!

Here I post the video we produced 3 years ago for University, it consisted in making a mock of a TV advertisement. The result was 'Percebe Scrich' the mock-advertisment of a Sewing Machine, were humour is constant.

I directed this with Juan Miralles, who was responsible of the script and most of the mise-en-scene while I co-wrote, co-directed and edited the tape. I hope you enjoy.

Aqui cuelgo el video producido hace 3 años para un trabajo de la Universidad que consistía en crear una parodia de un anuncio de televisión. El resultado fue 'Percebe Scrich;' una parodia sobre un teletienda de una máquina de coser, donde no falta el humor.

Fue dirigido con Juan Miralles, quien fue responsable del guión y la mayoría de la puesta en escena, mientras que yo me encargué un poco del guión también, dirección y principalmente el montaje. Espero que disfrutéis.

Today has started brightly. The 2nd Annual International Cypruss Film Festival has selected in competition our short film Mummy, I want some more that will be screened in the city of Nicosia the 19th of April.

We are still waiting for an official reply from the organizers but, this are great news now. I want to thank here to everybody that has supported this project, and all the directing team!!! let's go to the sun and see if it brights more... at least, let's promote it!(which Christina Spania, actress and director will be promoting there, basically is in her name in the website, it will be great).
